Train to install itClimate and what it means
Toronto gets cold, snowy winters and warm, humid summers, so surfaces go through a lot of freezing and thawing. In a cold climate, the winter facts matter most. Safescapes says poured rubber is bound with resin throughout so it can expand and contract through freeze-thaw cycles instead of cracking or lifting. It's safe to shovel and snow-blow, ice doesn't bond well to the porous surface, and ice melter is safe on it. The company doesn't recommend snow plows.
Where it fits in Toronto
High-rise amenity decks, condo pool terraces, daycare yards and backyard pools. Safescapes has posted a video of a Toronto high-rise playground surface.
Poured rubber usually goes over what's already there. Concrete is the most common base, and Safescapes also lists stone, asphalt, interlock, wooden decks and gravel. That keeps resurfacing jobs simpler than tearing out and re-pouring. After installation, the typical wait is 48 hours before walking on it, depending on temperature and humidity.

Have the size, the current surface and its condition, and the colours you want ready. Safescapes says those, along with leveling and prep work, are what drive the price. The form below sends your request with a Toronto source tag and a reference number.
